FAQ

1. WHO IS THE CAMP OPEN TO?

The camp is open to any female hockey player who is 9-12 in high school. We are looking to fill this camp with players that aspire to be Division 1 student athletes in ice hockey.

2. WILL LAUNDRY/SKATE SHARPENING BE PROVIDED?

Laundry is not provided. Skate Sharpening service is available for a fee. We will have a full time equipment manager on staff to handle all equipment needs.

3. WHAT SHOULD A CAMPER BRING WITH THEM?

4. WHERE DOES THE EQUIPMENT STAY?

The camp will be using locker rooms in Toscano Ice Forum. All equipment will stay in there for the duration of the camp.

5. WHAT ARE THE ACCOMODATIONS LIKE?

Campers are doubled up into air conditioned hotel rooms at the Graduate Inn Storrs. Our camp counselors will be staying in the hotel with the campers.

6. WHAT IF SOMETHING IS FORGOTTEN?

There is a co-op store on campus that is open year round. Any personal items can be purchased there. Also a CVS is within .2 miles of campus and transportation will be provided.

7. HOW DO I MAKE TRANSPORTATION ARRANGEMENTS?

After being notified on your accepted registration…contact Coach MacKenzie with any questions. See Contact on Website.

8. WHAT MEALS ARE INCLUDED?

Food is provided thru UConn Catering. The dining hall is a short walk from the hotel.

9. DO I BRING PERSONAL LINENS?

Not needed.

10. IS THERE MEDICAL AID IF NEEDED?

Yes…there is an infirmary on campus. We will have a full time Certified Athletic Trainer, Team Physician at our camp.

11. WHAT IF A CAMPER HAS ANY SPECIFIC MEDICAL NEEDS?

Please notify Coach MacKenzie after accepted Registration.

12. WHAT IF THERE IS A PERSONAL EMERGENCY DURING THE CAMP?

Emergency Contacts will be notified. The University has a hospital with 5 miles and fire/police departments on site. All campers are supervised for the entire duration of the camp.

13. SHOULD A CAMPER BRING CASH?

It’s an individual choice, although every precaution will be taken, our camp does not take responsibility for lost or stolen articles.
